National Groundwater Monitoring Network
- Legal basis : Article 17 of the Groundwater Act
- The Period : 2016 ~ 2021
- The Host :MOLIT(an angency K-water)
- Goals : To install 530 monitoring stations by 2021
- Currently(2015) have been installatied 402 monitoring stations
- Composition of groundwater monitoring station
- monitoring for Bedrock aquifer well : Entire well being monitored (293 wells)
- monitoring for The alluvial aquifer well : developed alluvial layer area (148 wells)
- A role of national Groundwater monitoring network
- the key station in acquiring groundwater hydrological data of Korea
- Observing and preventing groundwater hazards such as groundwater depletion, pollution, ground subsidence, and intrusion of seawater
Monitoring subjects
- Groundwater level, temperature and electrical conduction(EC) are measured automatically hourly
- Groundwater quality is analyzed in a laboratory for 19 items and main cation/anion, twice annually
Management system for the national Groundwater monitoring network
- Establishment of the monitoring data remote transceiver system
- Improvement of reliability of observed data and minimization of missing data by regular check ups
- Analysis of real-time monitoring data by the national Groundwater monitoring network management system and provision of it through the internet
